ssagaji is respect and humility. As you well know, it's important that you show it to others when you're dealing with a korean person.
If you say that to a korean person, it would be an insult.
A reputable korean person wouldn't say ssagaji. For example, you would never hear a CEO, or the president speak the word on national tv.
However, between friends, it is perfectly acceptable.
note: although we say "he doesn't have ssagaji", ssagaji as a noun is also someone who is disrespectful.
ie. "You are a ssagaji" = "You don't have ssagaji" = "you are a *beep*" |
