Hi, I was hoping a few people could give me some critique for a summer project I am working on.

I am teaching the kids some geography, culture, flags, cuisine, and monuments. I need exactly 12 countries, and 3 food items and 3 monuments for each country. Here is what I have:

France: Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe
Italy: Leaning Tower of Pisa, Colisseum, Canals of Venice
Australia: Uluru Rock, Great Barrier Reef, Opera House
Egypt: Pyramids, Sphinx
UK: Stonehenge, London Eye, Tower Bridge
India: Taj Mahal
USA: Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, Grand canyon
China: Great Wall of China, Forbidden City
Russia: The Kremlin
Brazil: Christ the Redeemer, Amazon Forest
Greece: ??
Mexico: Maccu Piccho

Questions.

1. Do you think there's another country that should be included, and if so, which country should I take out?

2. Any of the country where I don't have 3 monuments, please suggest one. if you think I forgot a more important monument, what is it?

Hi I like your idea, very clever..

Here are some of my suggestions

Greece- The parthenon, Olympia
Mexico- Chichen itza(myan), Temple of the sun(aztec)
Peru- Machu picchu
Antarctica(just to cover every continent lol)- Ice, pengins, south pole

Well there's my two cents. Hope your project goes well.

Machu Picchu is in Peru. I think you are thinking of Chichen Itza in Mexico.

Greece has the The Acropolis of Athens, Olympia, and The Monasteries at Meteora.

Brazil also has Carnaval.

India: Agra Fort and the India Gate.

Hope these help.

some obscure choices, was that on purpose? if not, why not replace Brazil with Canada? Canada is easy, Niagara Falls, CN Tower (maybe a bit toronto centric), Banff...

Mexico should be Chichen Itza..

I know you mentioned monuments, but what about:

Egypt - The Nile River
India - The Ganges
Russian - The Trans-Siberian Railway

I would replace the London Eye for Big Ben, it's much more iconic.

For China: Xian Terra Cotta warriors
Food: Peking Duck

For Russia: The Hermitage museum
Food: Caviar

Egypt: Valley of the Kings, Aswan dam

Just a suggestion: A set of three animals from each country might be interesting as well.

I purposely chose a few that are a little more obscure. (eg. Mount Rushmore) I don't want to make USA all about New York, for example.

I purposely took out Canada. I work for a place owned by a Canadian and I am also Canadian, and I feel Canada is shoved down the kids' throats a bit. They seem to have a good image of Canada, but nonetheless...

Yeah, I always get Peru and Mexico mixed up for monuments.

Yes, natural landmarks could be acceptable too. I like The Valley of the Kings.

Thanks for the help people.

Kinda amazed that you couldn't think of three monuments for Greece. Some other poster mentioned three, but didn't go with probably the most famous one of all, the Parthenon.

You need one more for Russia: Hagia Sofia
Mexico: Diving wall between US and Mexico being constructed. That's a good image.

The Parthenon is built on the Acropolis of Athens.
