What kind of remedial education are they teaching you? Try calling your school. This is not Dave's Association of Deans Cafe.

Speaking in the case of Ontario - they are sent to the Senate where they meet (I think) 3 times a year to sign the diplomas.

At my university in the USA, it took 5 weeks. This was because there were a number of people to sign off on it. My graduation advisor, general studies graduation advisor, diversity studies advisor, accounting office, etc... Even the police had to sign off on it, saying that I didn't have any traffic tickets. With 30,000 students, that means a fair number were graduating, and all were having their papers pushed around at the same time.

The university said, of course, that it could take up to 90 days. Be happy it's only 6 weeks. There probably is a way to get your degree faster. My school had a program for expedited service based on need. Like the other poster said, the only way to find out has nothing to do with Daves ESL cafe. Of course, the middle of January is probably too late to sign up for any such program.

My college said 4-6 weeks and now they say to expect to wait another six weeks because each college has to confirm everything.

First, you say a variety of derogatory things about foreigners. Now, you want our advice? Sorry, I have nothing to sell for you.

Took me six months because I wanted to wait for a traditional ceremony date.

winter/december grads such as i are oftentimes shafted. at the university of hawaii i had to wait until the spring graduation to get my actual piece of paper. why? the school didn't want to bother makling uo two batches of diplomas.

i had to lose a great job because of academia's indifference to the requirements of the real world.
