I live at Seoul Natl Uni of Edu not the Uni exit but I have always noticed not many people get on or off that subway stop, this is probably in no way useful but its not a crowded subway station, heh.

I just had my first experience being pushed off the subway b/c it was overcrowdeed so I know appreciate non-crowded subway stops. I was like 3rd in line and all the people behind me rushed me and this was Friday night and I had a beer in my hand and I could not let it spill so I backed down.

Good Luck

Yea, I live there as well...Out exit 6 and up the hill. I like it here it quite a bit. It's centrally located...If you're looking for a party area this ain't it...Unless you make your own party.

Is it just the location you like? Is it a good neighborhood?

I live at SNU station stop. There is a 24 hour gym at "Egg Yellow", the tallest, yellowest building just down the street. It's called Jamaica Fitness and it's on the 13th floor, I think. I know that it's pretty crowded after 8 in the evening but mornings are mellow. The membership fee is the best part: 395,000 won for the year and that includes the use of the sauna. It is quiet here, as the other posters describe, but there is also a nightlife at the 'girl-bars' and hofs which can be fun every now and again. Get ready to mingle with some drunk as fu#k locals in the process though. Personally, I really like it here. Very few other teachers and NO military. The teachers that I have met are friendly and a few of us have hung out locally on occasion. Good luck.

There is a Jamaica fitness in the Raubaum outlet. Also another one in Shillim saguri (intersection).

That area kinda sucks IMO, the subway station is so far from the school that it's not really a happenin spot like Sinchon or Hongdae where those areas are much closer to their respective schools. For whatever reason, near Shillim is a lot of hot girls even though it's not an upscale area. A lot of places to drink and a few night clubs over there.

Also a few of you seem to live near me in Shillim/Boncheong. I'm always down to meet up for a beer.

Aww at first I thought you said you lived near SNU station. I was gonna say you would live close to me and you'd really have to stop by lol.

Shillim station, the tall building between exit 7 and 8. Then you can try the one near Bongcheon intersection (SNU station), depending on which area of Shillim you are in it might be closer. If there's anything else you need help with, feel free to pm me.

I guess you had better clarify because I think you may have responses here from people that live in two different areas...I'm at "Seoul National University of Education" and there is also a station called "Seoul National University"

As I stated before I like the area... Sorry, I have a fitness room in my building so I don't use a local gym...The area is quite quiet and upscale...I'm near the court and prosecutors office...Not allot of western people around me but I'm a $5000 won cab ride from Itaewon and one subway stop from Gangnam...I would do it again.

There is another gym just up the block on the 8th floor of a building next to Pizza Hut. The Egg Yelow building also has a movie theater and there in a Starbucks and Mc Donalds too. Other than that it has the highest concentration of love motels and variety stores I've ever seen in Korea.

Anyone got a free room they want to rent around that area?
Or anyone know of cheap 3 month accomodation with no deposit? Will be studying in SNU from Sept 5th-Dec 1st, so just need a temporary place.

Thanks

Have you tried the dorms? I don't mean the dorms where you share your room with someone, but basically like a one room. I think it's around 500,000 a month and 100,000 deposit.
