Quote:
"We hired 10 people in the latter half of last year but all of them left within one or two months," said Kim Sang-min, president of Iljin Jeonggong, which produces chain gears and large screws. "There are 10 foreign employees working for the company and most of those who quit said they didn't want to work with foreigners," Kim said.

Choosy job seekers won't take just any old position

That could just be an excuse to quit. The company produces chain gears and large screws so I think the jobs were in manufacturing. Doesn't seem like a good job to begin with and the foreigners were probably SE Asians.

Or it could show how the majority of Korean people are xenophobic and think they are better than everyone else.

How dare you insult Koreans. They are the best. Why should they have to work with dirty foreigners? It is beneath them. Didn't you learn that in your Korean orientation. I thought that was mandatory.

Read the rest of the article. Very Happy

Sure, that may be one of the factors, but the articles shows pretty clearly why so many of Korea's youth are sitting at home unemployed.

Agree with the above. I don't want to work with Koreans, either. That is why I left. I do not want to share the same physical space as them, either. That is why when I meet them in a pub or restaurant down here I ask them to leave or walk out myself.
