For those that have been asking me: Ching-gu is now in boarding, and will go to his foster home in 2 weeks. He still needs a permanent home but its not urgent now. Lucky ol' Ching-gu. Please contact me at address below if you're interested in adopting him, or fostering/adopting any other dog, there are literally hundreds needing care. Also see this link:
http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/

Thanks everyone for your concern/help Smile

His name is Ching-gu because he befriended a chained dog near my place. I found him on the street but he's tame and quite friendly. I'm not going to tell the full story here except to say that he's adorable, clean and healthy (I took him to the vet last night and he had a full check up and tested negative for heart worm too). He needs a home urgently because he'll be going to a shelter this Sat. if no one takes him. He's about 6 years old. Very calm and quiet too. He's living in my spare room but hasn't been to the bathroom once since he's been here so he seems perfectly house trained. Loves exercise. Obviously I can't keep him because he's large and I live in a Korean apartment with no yard, but so far he's been very well behaved.

Please contact me at [email protected] for more info. or PM.
There is also the possibility that I could look after him for another week if need be (located in Itaewan, central Seoul).

Obviously I mean he hasn't been to the toilet once inside since he's been here... Wink

some more info:
*not spayed yet
*had good anti-body blood test results
*likes other dogs (but not sure about small ones, Jindos don't usually mix well with small dogs)
*doesn't bark for some reason (has voice box still)

Isn't 'spayed' only for females? I think 'neutered' is for males. I could easily be wrong.

I have two cats and no yard, so I can't take him. I'd like a dog, but just don't have the accomodations.

Good luck to both of you in finding him a good home.

Chow's aren't the most intelligent though. Hopefully the Jindo's intelligence gene has been left intact.

Since it's a mix, it's probably pretty smart. But, with dogs there are so many other variables besides intelligence that will determine its demeanor and how it interacts with its environment (training, history, etc.). I've known plenty of smart dogs who were complete sh*ts.

The cool thing about Chows is they are not a very needy breed, so they don't need constant interaction.

Yep, you got it. He's smart and so not-needy.
