Infected PC - Can you recommend a repair shop? (Gangnam)

I know that there are plenty PC shops in Gangnam, but can any of you recommend a shop that has great service at a good price?

Are the shops in Itaewon any good?

Problem:

I clicked on a link someone emailed me from Facebook and now Firefox won't launch (Explorer still does) and my web searches are very very slow.

Have you done a virus scan? Did the anti-virus program show any results?

Does anything unusual show up in task manager?

You could bring it to a PC repair guy.......but you might be able to disinfect yourself in 5 minutes.

AVG makes a free virus scanner

Avast makes a free virus scanner

PandaSoftware has an online ( free) scanner. You should try these first before wasting your money

Free AVG - http://free.avg.com/

Spybot Search and Destory (Free) - http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html

download, install and update both. then scan both in Safe Mode. No need to pay someone for something you can do yourself.

Even better, do a 1 month free trial of Kaspersky (one of the best):

http://www.kaspersky.com/kis_latest_versions

After the trial is over, switch to AVG. Kaspersky does a good job of getting rid of stuff. A lot of programs can find, but not many can clean well. Kaspersky cleans well.

Avast did the trick! Thanks for the suggestion!

Initially when I tried to go to avast.com or free.avg.com my browser would redirect me to some fake video page.

I got it at download.com

Happy Surfing!
