I've heard that the Chinese district in Incheon has some festivities for Lunar New Year. I don't plan to travel this year, but I would like to do something a little different...any truth to this rumor? If not, any recommendations for LNY festivities in the Seoul/Incheon/Kyeonggi area? |

China Town in Incheon is great except for:
-no Chinese food
-no Chinese people
-no Chinese goods
-no Chinese firecrackers
Apart from that it is Korea Sparkling!
Koreans do not publicly celebrate LNY. They go to their relatives
houses, eat a huge meal with lots of booze really early in the morning
and then go to game rooms in the afternoon.
On the foreigner scene, probably Itaewon is your best bet. It will
probably be pretty quiet because lots of mighty whities will have gone
abroad. |
