|
|
Hi everyone, I am leaving for a 1 week vacation from Korea to Taiwan in a week and would like to buy about 800,000 WON worth of TWD. I went to my local KB Star who told me they don't sell Taiwanese Dollars. A friend of my recommended going to KEB... do you think KEB would sell Taiwanese Dollars. The reason I am not doing this at the airport is that the Forex places usually charge a fair amount in commission. Any suggestions. |

Buy American with your won and exchange that in Taiwan. |

The problem with that is you get doubly taken by converting twice. E.G: you get taken by the strong dollar (commission) and then you have to pay commission again when you change to TWD. |

Try taking Korean money to Taiwan and exchanging it. That will make the conversion twice thing not look so bad.
When I was recently in the Philippines the Korean won was 20 to the peso and the U.S. dollar was 47.
So the won was less than 50% compared to the U.S. as nobody wants to buy it.
Glad I brought U.S dollars with me even though a double exchange does suck. |
