Anyone recommend an airline for getting from Bangkok to Koh Samui?

Also, what time is the earliest flights leave and what would be the latest?

There is only one airline that flies this route regularly: Bangkok Airways. They own the Samui airport! You could also fly into Surat Thani on Air Asia or Nok Air and take the ferry over. Bangkok Airways has always been worth the extra money to avoid the hassle.

yeah its pretty much a bangkok airways monopoly, however thai now does fly there twice a day but for a higher fare than bangkok airways there is also an airline (firefly) that flys a few times a week to Penang in Malaysia. flights run pretty much on the hour from 6a-9/10p. the first and last flights of the day are cheap 3200 baht with tax. however if you book online you can find flights for 2750 baht all inclusive for all flights through the end of march.

depending on flight specifics it can be almost half as much to fly to surat but you have to add another 2-3 hours to get to samui from the airport in surat.

Taking the Bangkok Airways flight was convenient. See if your airline can have your bags tranferred to Bangkok Airways as picking them up and heading to the domestic area can be time consuming and tiring. There`s also a nice lounge provided by Bangkok Airways at Suvarnabhumi.
