ive read that the Oakwood Lounge in Kangnam is nice, also a place called Temple. by the pictures oakwood lounge looked very posh, with big plushy couches and neon everywhere, minimalist architecture, expensive however. the kind of place id try at least once just for the architecture and decor

Best bar ive been to in Seoul is definately USA bar in Cheolsan. WOW. WOW. WOW.
Huge dance floors, great selection of drinks, comfy seating, private nora bongs. Pricey but the best time of my life!

yes, jj mahoney's.

that place has class written all over it Cool

if you're looking for something a little less key, than I would recommend "Chang" in Kangnam-yok. Exit 7 and up the top of the ridge.

Hmm. . I had fantastically bad service the one and only time I went to Gecko's garden, though I will say the place is beautiful.

I was amazed when i went last summer that my server couldn't speak a word of english. You'd think that working in an establishment with 50% foreigners as customers that it would be a pre-requisite.

This is Korea, and while yes, that would seem to make sense, I wouldn't complain about that- much. My group ordered food that never arrived, and then got charged for it, spent half an hour trying to flag down a waiter to get drinks. . etc. Worse than what I'd expect from McDonalds.

I'm really surprised to hear that, I think you had bad luck, I've been there more times than I care to mention (prices Shocked ) and have always found the service to be reasonable while certainly not perfect. Give it another go~~

But it is Itaewon...It would be like me working in the service industry back home in Korea town without being able to speak a lick. You're right not really a big deal I just wonder 1. why the person would choose that venue to work in? & 2. who would hire them knowing this fact?

both geckos have terrible service, everytime I go there they seem to screw up my order. Slow, and rude.... I spend my time and money elsewhere. Kinda disappointing considering one of the owners is supposed to be a foreigner, would've thought they'd know better.
