the cinema down the road from my house is playing it, but i'm in belfast so i don't think that is much use to you. i have an exam tomorrow, (it's my only one this semester) so i'm gonna watch it on my laptop, I downloaded it from here.

Don't know if you have a laptop or computer but if you do it will save a lot of hassle looking for it!!

can't help you find it in theatre, but it's well worth the hunt.

No release date as yet. That may change after the recent Globes and then the oscars.

Downloaded and watched it. Really a wonderful film. I would be worried about there not being English subtitles in a Korean theater, as there is alot of hindi spoken throughout.

I really enjoyed the movie, but am a bit surprised at all the hype it's been getting.

was it really that good?

Thank You CC.

I think the hype maybe relates to the Bollywood fad.

More power to anyone who liked it but it was pretty forgettable and sort of hokey. And God that "Oo vants to be a -meelyonaire?" got annoying as hell. Maybe it's a spoof on Bollywood and I don't get it.

It's always strange when something actually good gets recognised and becomes popular, rather than something trendy about vampires.

It'll win Best Picture at The Academy Awards, for sure. For me, it was the best film I've seen all year (Let the Right One In, a GOOD vampire movie, is a close second).

As for its Korean release, I assume, because of the colorful subtitles, the English will be replaced with Hangeul.

It's a good movie, but it stands out because it's an actual happy ending flick in bad times and because most of the movies out this year were "meh" at best.

If anyone can recommend me a better movie I'd love to have their recommendation.

in the last couple of weeks I watched "Let the Right One In" which was really, really good. It got to me in the way a good movie should.

I also watched "The Wrestler". Hmm. That wasn't a bad movie by any means. It was good. It was in no way comparable to Slumdog or LTROI though. It didn't make me think about it after. It was just.. a story. Nothing more.

I watched Slumdog Millionaire and it was an amazing film. I know nothing about acting or effects or stuff like that, but I have to say the story was compelling and it left me thinking long after it was over.

There wasn't much music in the main parts of the movie, but the soundtrack is awesome too. It got me in the beginning chase scene with a tune made by the God Of (Indian) Sountracks and there wasn't much more music until MIA's 'paper planes' later on or maybe in the closing credits. Despite the fact there are only 4 good tracks on the soundtrack, it is currently rated as my Best Ever movie soundtrack.

All in all, Slumdog Millionaire is my film of 2008, but I don't watch a lot of films so if someone can point me to something better I'd be most grateful. I'm planning on watching Milk in a coupla days but I'm thinking it'll be just another biopic rather than anything seriously good.

Oh yeah, Batman was pretty good too. I liked that a lot. Not as much as Slumdog Millionaire though. A lot more than The Wrestler though eh.

Personally, I thought that The Wrestler and Gran Torino were both on par with WWTBAM ( Wink ) but it seems like the latter is getting sooo much press.

The thing is, they're all solid movies... with a couple of weak performances scattered throughout.

For me though, I just think this was a relatively weak year for movies, and perhaps that's why there isso much hype around this one.

Right, I agree. It was a good film, definitely better than average, but not that memorable. Same deal with Batman imo. Gran Torino I thought was very good though.
