Anyone interested in joining me? I'm into my third year here and I've yet to meet in person anyone who shares my love of cinema. I know you're out there. I've seen your posts. The question is, do any of you live in the Hanam si, Guri, Deokso, Yanpyeong, Yeoju area and do you want to get together to talk/watch films on a semi-regular basis? It's something I'd like to do once or twice a month if possible. I'm a man who enjoys watching movies with people who enjoy watching movies.

My fantasy is to find a modest group of people who live tolerably close to one another and can host small gatherings on a rotating basis. Large televisions preferred but not required. Potluck food, wine, a movie or two, pleasant conversation...

I'm open to anything when it comes to film. I especially like themes, for example, looking at the first color features of major directors who started in b/w, surveying the best pictures or actors or actresses of a given decade or the nominees of a certain year, biblical epics, superior sequels, prison breaks... to give you just some pedestrian examples.

I was able to be a part of something like this both in Ann Arbor and again in Seattle; it's something I sorely miss here. I can find plenty of people to watch the newest blockbuster with, and my wife is all about the romantic comedies, but I'm starving for company from whom the phrases "German expressionism," "pre-code Hollywood," "Felliniesque," and "poetic realism" elicit more than blank stares.

Lost cause?
