Typical Job Ad.
Teach in Beautiful (insert name of place).
So far I've seen ads for Beautiful!, Ulsan (if you can see it through the smog), Yeonsu, Incheon (Beautiful factories), Busan (whats town planning?), Seoul, Daegu, even Pohang, and the list just goes on and on.
If any recruiter is reading this. Stop using the word beautiful to describe places that are dumps. We are not as stupid as you think we are. We do know these places are not beautiful and are in fact dumps.
Definition of beautiful: This job sucks and has no good features so we have to lie about what a wonderful cultural experience you'll have and what a 'beautiful' place you'll have the honor of living in. |

Y'all gotta get out of the city once in a while... I had a PharmD (old school Korean yak-sa) tell me "No umm... it is the... sul... umm.. Do not eat with a spoon here. You eat with chopsticks. Kimchi is ok - but just a little bit. Too much salt. Kimchi Chiggae... is.." and he did the X thing with his arms. |

How about "experience the real China" or wherever? You mean live in a hicktown and come to hate going out in public dealing with people who think you are from Mars? It's kind of like selling crap and calling it roses. |

Actually, my area of Ulsan is quite charming. There is no smog. It is vibrant. I wouldn't call it beautiful, but it does have an appeal to it. |

There's a job ad for Linfen, China which boasts of flowers and it being a "scenic" place.
No mention that Linfen was deemed the most polluted city in the world in 2006 and that its air is black with coal. |

Dave's ESL Korean forum - and I'm sure most patriotic Koreans would agree. |

I find a lot of beauty in Korea, but most of it is unintended and hidden from plain view. |

Kunsan. Ugliest city in the country. Me and an ex-girlfriend went on a roadtrip there thinking "coastal city, ocean, beaches" and instead got "dilapidated cinder block nightmare". We didn't even get to the coast before we got out of that hell hole. We shouldn't have even left the piss-covered floor, cement closet they call a bus terminal. |

Any school that advertises the city more than the school is no place you want to work. |

TWO! Blah-ah-ah
My doctor told me what I already knew, Koreans eat way too much salt. A thing of ramen is about 97% of your sodium. That's one meal down... |

A buddhist temple high up in the mountains is beautiful, but modern development in the valleys is uglyer than how ass smells. What are they going to do in 20 years when this cheap quality modern development begins to crumble and they have a big flagulating turd on their hands? Oh boy.... |
