I recently transferred my visa to a new school in a new city after five years at the same school.
Today my boss came to me in a panic saying that the Education Office needs apostilled CRC from the USA and apostilled diploma.
Is it true that immigration keeps these on file? Can I just go to the immigration office in my last city and request copies of these that will be honored by the Education Office?
Do I need to fill out a form to get these, or do I just ask the officer at the immigration office?
Thanks for any and all help |

When I transferred schools (from one BOE to another) I went to immigration and got a copy of my diploma and CRC. It's a separate room, and cost 10 won per page. No big deal.
The new BOE also wanted a Korean background check, since I hadn't left the Korea for more than 90 days since I began my first job. The boss took care of that.
The only part of this that will be tricky is making sure that the folks in the records room aren't at lunch. Seems like they're ALWAYS at lunch, ha ha. Make sure you have pocket change, as they can't take cards and weren't able to break a chun won for me when I went. |
