I have my family send me not-in-Korea tobacco products once or twice a year. Never had a problem with customs, though I don't overdo it. |

There are only three places in Seoul that I know of that sell dip.
1) Dandy's Market
2) A tobacconist on the second floor of the Hamilton shopping "plaza".
3) The military base.
The price for a tin of dip at Dandy's just jumped to W11,000. When I checked the prices on dip at the Hamilton shopping "plaza" I nearly fell over (W15,000 -- and this was last year). The best option is to suck it up and make a military friend. A guy who in my jiu-jitsu class was kind enough to bring me in a few tins....they pay $4.00 a can.
If you're willing to pay the outrageous prices and want direction to either 1) or 2), let me know.

after reading the smoking thread, i'm curious how many people have used dip to quit smoking for short periods of time.
for example, in i went to an all guys high-school, and i would make the switch each rugby season when i needed to get in shape. |

Do they carry pipe tabacco? If so, would you happen to know the price? |

They had pipe tobacco at the place near Hamilton Hotel but my eyes got as big as banjos when I saw the price.
I'll be going back to the states in late January. If you want me to pick you up some pipe tobacco, let me know. I smoke pipe tobacco myself (I received six ounces of pipe tobacco today).

Ditto on the pipe tobacco. Where can you have this sent to you in Korea? Are there any places that sell it? I'm down to the last bowl's worth. |

I don't have Gauloises, but if you come over again I have something not available on the Korean market. |

Well, I got lucky. I don't have to go to Seoul or Busan now. A local merchant in Pohang who operates a small booth downtown at a shopping center recently ended up with a couple 12oz cans of Captain Black pipe tobacco. Reasonably priced at that. (Although, admittedly, a low end brand.) So who wants some? |
