I've heard everything now.... "Your English camp is too educational, the goal of English camp is too motivate the students by playing fun games." WTF...... I've been playing games and teaching them by doing CA (communicative approach) by giving them group assignments about things they already know.
I'm going to become an Edutainer clown and wear a big bozo wig with a red nose everyday and throw pies at Cookie the clown for fun. |

Just keep doing what you're doing. Smile politely, then keep on truckin'. |

I have no idea what the goal of winter camp is. I only know it six weeks too long for me. Lately I've just rushed through whatever I have planned and play poker with the kids. They're high school.
No one's told me to make it more or less of anything.
The only help I get is that once in awhile a Korean teacher will show up and try to take attendance. I ask what they are doing and they say, "your school wants you to have help so they sent me to take attendance." That's was a little offensive to me considering they trusted me to create and implement six weeks of lessons at four hours per day. Taking attendance was really the easiest part and the least of my concerns I expressed to my school.
Oh well, sparkling indeed. |
