So I bought Call of Duty 4 from Lotte Mart. When I was in Yongsan I kept an eye out for PC games, but I couldn't find any and after asking several clerks I found out that PC games in general weren't available in Yongsan or just quite hard to find.
Yesterday I was in Lotte Mart in Pyeongchon and I saw COD4 so I bought it on a whim. Can't really argue with W24,000 for a new game anyway. The only problem is, there was no English install option and the menus as well as the written script in game seem to be in Korean.
It's not that big a deal, but I'd prefer it to be in English. Does anyone know of a patch to switch versions from Korean to English? Or can I download an illegal copy and swap the /zone/ directory (which contains all the Korean scripts) with a /zone/ English version directory of the same version?
I'm having trouble getting it to work on multiplayer and I think I could probably get it to work a easier if it was in English.
Thanks! |

I was thinking about that. I had a downloaded copy earlier--but of course the multiplayer was blocked. I deleted it when I bought a copy assuming the installer would have an English option.
Oh well, I might just use it at a crappy attempt to practice my Korean All the important things are in English anyways... |

Yeah I'd guess you're probably SOL. Unless you find someone who has an English copy and wants to trade. |

Are your system setting in English? I had this problem when I installed Gears of War. Everything was in Korean. I checked the non-unicode settings and they were in Korean. I changed it to English and re-installed the game, and it was in English.
I bought a copy of COD4 here and the box was in Korean, but the game is completely in English. |

Yongsan has heaps of PC games. I'm guessing you were in the console section. The buildings tend to be specialised to one thing or another.
Most of the PC games are in one of the basements across the road from console alley. |
