I had it last year in Changwon and it never made me log in and waste time. This year, I have to log in every time and if the page won't redirect to the log in page, I have to reboot which happens regularly. As you can imagine, all this logging in adds up to significant amounts of time wasted during a year. It really is a dumb way to short size the service as it's the same long in that KT employees (staff) use. This is for Gangwon megapass.

Why not just have it on all the time like any other broadband service? Anyone had this issue and fixed it?

I have a KT 100m fiber optic connection (not megapass) and have only logged on my first time using it. After the initial log in I've never had to do so again. Must be something wrong if u are required to log in each time u open ur connection. You need to call them and sort it, don't be shy.

Buy a router, then your connection is always live, no matter if you turn your computer off or not.

You have a config / modem problem.

Call them (dial 100 on your phone) and get it sorted out. They have English service.

Does anyone know what happens with Megapass when you change computers?

I have a new one arriving soon and I want to switch over as soon as possible. I remember the installation guy doing something with my laptop to set it up, but I can't remember what.

Any ideas? I have my login still, is it just a case of going to the login page and entering the details.

Thanks.

Usually there is NOTHING you need to do (other than perhaps log in).

If it is a laptop, he probably made sure that it was using the hardwired LAN and not the wireless connection (as in he disabled the wireless in the control panel).

I just got my laptop back after having had the motherboard replaced. Upon booting upon and launching my browser, I kept getting the MegaPass login page. I've never used my login/password before and so didn't actually know what it was. I popped into the KT place the next day and they sent a technician around that evening. Took him about 10-minutes to fix it. No charge as well.

When I open a browser for the first time after booting up it always goes to the Megapass page but doesn't requre log in. After that it doesn't go the the page again.

I guess I'll just see what happens when the new one arrives. the technician who came last time left me his card so I might have to call him if there are problems.

When you get a new computer, you'll have to input your login/password again because the MAC address changed but after that you shouldn't have a problem.

I've had it longer and the same for me.....until i had them come over (for an unrelated matter to this topic) and take the modem (this is the new dealee). Since then, I had to log in once and never again, however; on initial startup each time any shortcut to the internet is redirected to their megapass page---a serious piss off. I will eventually get them over to correct this, or will find another provider if they don't.

I contacted them and they told me it was they 'upgraded'. Me having to login every time I restart the computer ain't no upgrade!

Any solutions as of yet?
