|
|
My computer froze up last night, so I turned it off manually. When I restarted it, the clock is off and the date is set to July 6, 2006. I tried to reset the date and time, but the time and date window freezes and will not even close, though all other windows are fine.
Now my Windows Live One Care security and maintenance program does not work, along with other programs, which require subscription or date/time syncronization.
I have an HP with Windows Vista.
Suggestions? |

Have you been surfing porn or downloading lots of stuff. Cause it sounds like a virus, lots of Trojans/Viruses ms with clocks that in return screw with Virus scanners and subsriptions. Windows ONE care Live is shit its poorly rated and wouldn't recognize a virus if it took a shit on its head.
First head to:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
It an online virus scanner.
You should also head to somewhere where you can get a a good anti virus program.
Avira, Avast or AVG Free are good. Just google them.
I also suggest you to look up SaferNetworking "Spybot Search and Destroy" Run them both see what happens.
This i the first course of action, if this doesn't solve your problem then head to next trouble shooting steps. |

I can't recall going to any unusual sites. But, a virus seems plausible.
Does the browser you use make a difference?
I'm using firefox. . .
I couldn't get your first suggestion to scan my system. I'll try some of the others next.
Thanks for your help. |
