I'm no fan of rats but today I saw the brutal murder of a rodent to-day. Walking along the street I came across a furry friend right smack in the middle of the sidewalk. I skirted around him, kept walking then suddenly heard some serious squeaking!! Looked back some maniac Korean dude is kicking the shit out of the rat.

Cold Blooded Murder. I take it they don't like rats much over here? Laughing

I`m surprised the guy could catch the rat. Usually they`re pretty slick and fast into the hole in the wall.

He was about the size of my biggest pet rat. He could pick up a whole bagel and run away with it.

There was a post several years ago in which someone alleges to have witnessed someone stomping kittens to death....

not sure about the validity but wouldn't be surprised knowing Koreans penchant for not giving a shite about animals in general

To be honest, I think a majority of Koreans aren't animal lovers. Seems to be a different mindset over here when it comes to animals. Poor rat. Sad

They are vermin. It's ok to kill them where I'm from.

I haven't heard about stomping kittens to death here but they boil cats alive in other to extract a so called "health tonic" called cat juice. More fairy tales and hocus pocus from Uri Nara. Rolling Eyes

Quote:
Cat consumption is also relatively recent in South Korea. Most of the cats consumed each year are trapped in crude wire cages. Companion animals and strays alike are repeatedly bludgeoned with hammers or placed in sacks, which are then pounded on the ground. Often, while still alive, the cats are thrown into large pots of boiling water and cooked with ginger, dates, and chestnuts until liquefied to a brown paste called Goyangi Soju, or "cat juice", which dealers claim with cure rheumatism.

When's the last time you posted something positive about Korea? Why do you spend so much time on these forums if you hate the place so much?

samd, you can't bring yourself to post anything negative about the place, which is equally skewed.

I consider myself much more of a "some stuff about Korea I love, then some is so-so, then...blah, blah...down to "that shit is messed up!" kind of guy. It's a mix.

So, samd, do some Koreans boil cats?
