Not sure whether this topic should be here or the B/S/T forum, but here goes.

Where can I buy large shoes in Korea? I have no problem with clothes, since I'm only 5'5"(165cm), but I wear size 10-11US shoes. The only place where I've seen shoes larger than size 9 is in Itaewon, but only in the Reebok store. And those shoes haven't really lasted. I'd like to be able to buy Nike, Adidas etc... Anyone know where I can find large shoes?

Also, why do Koreans have such tiny feet? I can understand if you're short and have small feet, but If you're 6' tall, why would you wear size 6 shoes?

maybe i understand the system here incorrectly but i've had better luck at 'brand-owned' stores. like at the official adidas store in myeungdong i was able to find 10.5 sambas just like how i like 'em but no where else. i think it's because all the other 'official' adidas stores are more like 'adidas-licensed' stores that pick and choose their inventory where as an 'official' store would receive a standard inventory.

is this just a bunch of baloney or am i onto something here?

10-11s are everywhere. That's 275-280. I'm not sure where you're shopping that you can't find them.

Yeah, I wear US size 11-11 1/2 (Korean = 280-285) and I don't think I've ever had a problem finding my shoe size in the 6 years I've lived in Seoul and Ilsan.

Strangee. Confused

I've looked in Itaewon at the Nike, Adidas, and New Balance store, and couldn't get over 270. I've tried Homeplus, Emart, and Homever in Anyang and Geumcheon Gu, but still couldn't find over 270 except for random crappy Korean knock off brands.

I have no problem wearing shoes that aren't name brand, but I don't want sparkles and hearts, and I want them to last for more than a couple of weeks.

I'll check out Myeong Dong, though. I may have to go back to Bucheon though. I found large shoes there, but it is a bit of a schlep.

Oh, well that's different. All my shoes have sparkles and hearts on them (but they usually last at least a month). I'm very self-assured in my masculinity, and if anyone ever made fun of them I'd plant one in his ass.

I have a similar problem, but I've managed to find one pair of Nikes my size in an official Nike store (decently priced as well, I must say). Actually, I'm around US 11.5, which is around 295 in Korea.

I remember someone on this board recommending a place in Itaewon called "New World Shoes" or something which had big sizes (e.g. US 14). The directions were kinda fuzzy, so I never checked it out.

I often find it difficult, I need 285-290 and have found that most places only stock up to 280 if that. I have bought Nike though at 290 and they are pretty good quality. A lot of more up market dress shoe stores almost laugh when I ask for my size aying I would not find shoes anywhere, it's pretty true in my experieince.

You might consider foot binding as one possible solution:

Is the OP a man or a woman? As a woman who is 5 feet 4 inches and wearing a size 10, I can tell you it is impossible to find shoes in this country. Size 10 for women in the US is 270 in Korea! On top of that I need a narrow width, so I'm SOL. I can't find sneakers bigger than a size 8. If I do magically find 9.5 or 10 they are too wide. In my 12 years here I have never bought dressy shoes or sandals within the South Korean borders.

You can buy large shoes here:

https://www.kumkangmall.com/product/bns_main.asp

Up to 310 for men, 260 for women (not good in your case).
