|
|
I will be visiting Japan and I'm wondering if anyone knows if PC parts are cheaper in Korea or Japan. I'm mainly interested in graphic cards, coolers, fans, etc (nothing that's brand new on the market).
Gmarket has some fairly competitive prices on the items I want but I'm curious if I should wait and see what Japan has to offer. Any insight would be appreciated! |

IF you are paying in won (or converting won to Yen) then I think it will be cheaper in Korea. Though if you go to the back streets of Akihabara you can find some good deals, just stay away from the big shops on the main streets. |

The cheapest prices in the world, AFAIK, for PC components are the American online stores.
www.newegg.com is the cheapest source for computer parts as far as I know. Especially if you mail in the rebate.
Compared to Korean prices, newegg can be as much as 60% cheaper.
The current prices in Korea for quality PC parts is a scandal. |

I agree that the US has the best prices all around, but I'm not American so I'm out of luck there. When I built my PC during the summer, I found that certain parts on Gmarket were a little more expensive than Newegg.com but still cheaper than what I could get in Canada (when you add up all the taxes). As for warranty, I'm basically just hoping for the best.
Thanks for the replies, I'll take a look at some of the smaller shops in Akihabara. |
