We were quoted 450 including tax on Thai Airways for the third week of February. I heard there might be some tickets on Vietnam Airlines going for around 300...looking into it tomorrow.

What have you paid?

That sounds about right--- booked and purchased my tix for this coming Sunday (Seolal weekend) last week for 436, all inclusive.

Just keep in mind that most foreigners need a visa for Vietnam, EVEN IF TRANSITING through HCM or Hanoi airports...(At least for US citizens, not sure about Canucks, Aussies, Brits) Getting a transit visa may be more of a hassle than just shelling out a few man wons more....

Yup, 450 is all including taxes.

The tickets through Vietnam airlines are really really cheap...but I didn't think about the Vietnamese visa and I remember it being a pain when I went there before.

One word tells why. I'd never go direct. Stop over in HK or Taiwan next time.

Are you buying these tickets on the Thai Airways website or are you buying them thru a travel agent or the local Thai Airways office?

I use

www.tourexpress.co.kr

and

www.onlinetour.co.kr

I was hoping to find a stop over flight for Koh Samui but only direct, so it's gonna be a flight to Bangkok and then connector.

If you don't change planes and stop in HK or Taiwan it's still classed as direct.

So the INCH-HK-Seoul TG695 for example is a direct flight even though it stops in HK for 45minutes

Yeah I know. Unfortunately my boss sucks and would only give me a short amount of holiday time so it had to be direct.

Anyway, tonight Phuket here I come Cool
