Okay I'm paid a month later like the rest of you I'm assuming. So the month of December that I will work will not be paid till January next year. Does this mean that my income of December should be factored into my tax refund or not because I don't actually receive that money until 2009?

According to my employer last year, the tax year in Korea ends in November. So the tax year that you would get a refund for this year would be December 2007 to Novermber 2008.

Have a look at the following website to sort out everything for your tax refund:

http://www.nts.go.kr/eng/korean/korean_04.asp?top_code=K001&sub_code=KS04&ssub_code=KSC4

It is normally up to the end of 2008 and then applied for you in January 2009.

So if your school is on the job and has submitted your taxes when should you expect your refund?

Also weren't they supposed to give me some kind of form? Has anyone been given a form from your school about your taxes? Do you know the name of it?

Has anyone actually received their refund yet?

I'm curious about the refund as well, if anyone has any more info on it. Anyone get any money back from it last year?

No one has even bothered looking at the link that I provided. It is in English and they have the form you require included by adobe pdf. You just need to print it out, fill it in and then give it to your employer.

How much was it? Or, what percent of your income was it?

I'm trying to figure out if this is even worth the time.

How exactly did you do it?

what do you mean exactly?

I'm paid the same month I work - actually for all days not worked yet since we're paid thru the end of the month even tho paid on the 25th.

are you serious about not being paid until the next month? Shocked

Last year it was about 950,000 won. It was what was on par with the government rebate page told me I should have received. It's a calculator to tell you if you receive or owe money. I can't remember the link. Check some threads here and look.
