| The story is he committed some misdemeanors and paid his debt to society through six months in jail. Did he commit another crime for which you have proof? |

hmm...perhaps it might be easier to stop people from posting while brain dead...did you read your thread title?
...as for the intention of the thread...this guy was not teaching illegally...the morality of the rest of this issue is being discussed ad nauseum in another thread.
could it be that you want to rat-out illegal teachers?
or as your title implies....illegal teaching...ie private teaching?
either way...not such a sterling thread |

No, just a series of lies and creepy websites. Oh, and persuing a line of work that convicted child molesters who truly want to reform must stay away from. Just enough that I'd beat the living shit out of him if I ever saw him near my middle school students. |

What if someone decided to beat the shit out of you or me because we taught at their school? I am sure that there are countless nutjobs who could come up with a reason to violently hate any one of us. |

I think there are 2 things people should remember:
1. Korean immigration only looks at E-2 visa applicants with regards to criminal background, medical tests, drug tests and AIDS tests. CPN had no criminal history, but even if he did, he was on an E-7. This recent guy was on an E-1. There are tons of foreigners on an F-2 and F-4 that never jump through hoops.
2. The majority of child molesters in Korea are Korean, but they are often unpunished, unreported or in some cases, allowed to continue teaching children after conviction. The media freaks out more when it's foreigners, and foreigners seem to freak out more when it's foreigners.
We should have qual testing and scrutinizing for all, regardless of culture or status. |

I would be all for a basic proficiency test for all FT in Korea. It would be better than the bunk interview newbs do at the embassy.
Let's say a 90 minute 100 question multiple choice test on methodology, usage, punctuation and spelling. I'd be all for it if it didn't cost too much. It'd be a great way to weed out unprofessional tards and restore some confidence in the FTs here. |
