Are there any places that give classes in English in Gangnam? I'm a beginner and want to start it up. I see a lot of places advertising Hot Yoga...what is that?

Modern day yoga is just a trend and very bad for your nervous system and spine.

Hot yoga is just another sales tool or trend where it is done in a hot room.

Pilates is better for your health.

Yogies always did spontaneous poses and only a few a day. The west turned this into a series of poses that have nothing to do with the person.

Meditation should be first and if your body wants to adapt poses after it should be allowed to naturally.

Having a half trained teacher saying ok everyone do this and now this one is very bad for your overall health.

I would say the best way to practice is by yourself. I am sure Koreans would stuff it up even more.

I realy like this meditation called kundalini. It involves 10 minutes of shaking then dancing, then meditation and relaxing.

It can be found under Osho kundalini meditation on some sights like kazza.

Do that for 6 months and you will feel amazing.

Most of the damage is very subtle like people who smoke dope. Yoga pushes feelings and tension away from the muscles into the harder tissues of the body.

It becomes a great way to hide issues and tension without certain parts of the brain being able to find them.

Just like dope it makes people passive while under the surface tension builds.

The result is a fake peaceful person with a big wide smile. People that know them know that at certain moments the get very angry.

Again yoga was meant to be a union of mind and body not an execise routine to lose weight or have a nice butt.

Modern yoga creates a disconnection between mind and body. Most Indian practices are garbage but amonsgt the garbage is some gems.

I once helped a guy who was famous because he didn't need to sleep after years of standing on his head with yoga.

People treated treated him like a guru. After I had helped take tension out of his spine that all the yoga had caused he thanked me quietly for his new abilty to enjoy sleep. He asked me not to tell his worshipers.

I have helped so many people messed up from yoga. I only write here to warn people of its effects.

Exercise is much better for losing weight. Be sure to vary your exercise routine.
