| I'm looking to get certified for ESL but there are faaaar too many options and I have no idea where to begin...is getting certified online a reputable way to do it? How much should I pay? Any advice here would be most appreciated. |

Depends on what you mean by certified. If you are thinking a 120 hour course to get a certificate in TESOL then that is one thing but to get a license to teach ESL that you would perhaps use in a public school back home is another thing entirely.
If you are just looking at one of those short courses to get a certificate, there are many options depending one who you will teach (kids or adults) and I am sure someone on this board has done it in the past and can lead you in the right direction.
If you are looking to be certified to one day teach in public schools (i.e. and actual teaching license) then online programs may not be the way to go since most states won't even think of certifying someone without having a practicum/student teaching for a minimum of 9 weeks. That you can't do online very easily......in fact I would definitely not recommend it. |

Do an ITTT TESOL 100 hr online course.
It is recognized by public schools in Korea, and you'll get more pay because of it.
It took me 3 months to do, you have 6 months to do it in.
I got a Grade B. |

Bridge Linguatec offers online and classroom courses. You can take most of your courses online and just do your practicum in the classroom. There will, however, be a supervised practicum as required by both (at least American) certifying bodies. |
