went to Konjiam ski resort yesterday....
Got to the bottom of a run and found my girlfriend (korean) crying - some adjossi hit her in the eye (eyelid) with the tip of his ski pole - and not while skiing, while standing around near the lift line - she said he just walked off with out saying anything/apologizing even though he looked at her. eyelid was bleeding a little - puffed up nicely (a very serious problem - if you know anything about Koreans' obsessions with eyes).
She's a tough girl though - I assured her that her eye was ok and we didn't have to go to the medical assistance room (I'm an EMT) - back on the chairlift in about 15 minutes.
The ski area is ok - terrible snow conditions, slaloming Koreans, boarders take their board off for the lift? I slid out toeside at the top of the the "expert" run (lower intermediate in N.A. - yeah it's been 3 years since I was on a board and I sucked) and proceeded to slide 20 meters down the slope on my knees - it was nothing but ice covered with a little man made snow, never seen anything like it before. It would be fun on a week day if there was some real snow.
Best part was watching so many people eat it - I must have seen a couple hundred crashes in 4 hours. there were some skilled young boarders, nice looking pipe. |
