I was wondering about food poisoning and also the way there is bacteria in the water here that can cause digestive problems.
Does the proportion of food/water you drink effect the degree to which you'll be sick?
It seems to make sense that the answer would be 'yes', the more infected water you drink the sicker you'll get. Yet it's also possible that bacteria would multiply in your stomach in any case and the initial amount consumed would have little effect. So a mouthful of infected water is as bad as a whole carton of water. After all, you either get a cold or you don't get a cold...there's no middle ground. Right?
I'm just wondering because my prawns are taken ages to defrost and I want to eat one just to make sure they aren't funny. |

I only got salmonella poisoning once and it sucks.
I'd been travelling in Mexico and had a really disgusting hamburger (unconfirmed meat species) before boarding my return flight.
On the way home from the airport, I found a few old chicken McNuggets in the car and scarfed them.
That evening I got violently ill. BUT I honestly can't say if the burger or the nuggets caused it.
Next day I went to the doctor who confirmed salmonella and gave me Cipro.
OKk. I don't think it matters how much contaminant you ingest. More would likely make one sick faster, though. |

Defrost them in the microwave or fridge.
Even if you don't as long as it is not taking days to defrost you should be fine |
