Do you like boba (bubble tea)? It's one of my favorite things - I was actually thinking about teaching in Taiwan so as to have readily available boba.
I've found a couple places that have boba in Korea but they all suck, except for one:
The sign says BBoBBa. It's a hangout spot for girls from sookdae (womens university) - sookdae station, line 4 - go out exit 8, walk north a couple meters, turn left (only street before exit 9), go under bridge to interesection, cross the street (don't change direction) and start walking uphill, it's on the right after maybe 15 meters.
After 3 visits and pressure from the Korean girlfriend we convinced the owner to mix the Taro and Coconut flavors - It's quite good (not as good as the place i go to in America - too much milk, too sweet) and if you are a foreigner and ask for this I'm sure he will immediately realize I sent you.
Enjoy |

You know, I expected there to be more bubble tea in Korea but when I came here, all the Koreans either scoffed or chuckled then said, "Oh...that is sooooo old-fashioned now. Like, very not trendy anymore." That just annoyed me. Why does food have to be trendy? If it tasted good 5 years ago, it should taste good now, too.
Anyway, yeah, I just found the crappy bubble tea, like the one at Coex and the one at Jamsil by the big water fountain. Nothing like Ten Ren's back in the US. |
