It's my boyfriends birthday next month.

I want to take him to a chamchi/ sashimi (raw fish) restaurant in Seoul. Unfortunately I live a distance away and need help...Where can I take him?

If you have any good ideas please let me know. Preferably Hongdae or Itaewon area. Preferably expensive. It's his 25th after all

There's a place by my house that I really like - I usually go there for lunch - incredible hway dup bap for 6000 but I would imagine the more expensive stuff is just as good. There are private rooms and a sushi bar. It's sorta close to Itaewon....At Namyeong station on line 1. I don't know the name - there is a big blue and white sign with a picture of a guy in a chef's hat, says something like "delicious taste of tuna" - leave namyeong yuk (only one exit/entrance) and turn right, you are now pointed directly at the restaurant - walk to where the street ends at a T intersection and cross the street/restaurant at intersection.

It's the best tuna I've had in Korea.

do you think Makeoli is better than the tuna place? It sounds lovely.

Makeoli is great but I wouldn't go there for dinner. If you are heading to Itaewon from either of these places you can take the 0015 green bus - at the middle of the road bus stop. Best to go to Hongdae by taxi - about 6000.
