hey guys
i was watching a movie the other day on VLC when it froze. The computer isnt the best and was being a bit slow so I just restarted it. When it booted back up and I checked my external hard drive, it said there was nothing there. when i double clicked it (it was coming up as F drive rather than "buffalo" like it used to) it now says that the disk isnt formatted and would i like to do this now. i didnt click on that cos i know that will definitely wipe everything. any ideas on how i can get my stuff back??? i've got a buffalo 1TB external hard drive...any advice would be greatly appreciated! or if any tech guys could take a look at it, a free lunch and a few beers could be offered!! thanks |

happened to me as well. I took mine to Yongsan. there's a place on the B1 or 1st floor that can recover data. Spendy, but they fixed the problem.
someone else also had issues. check this thread:

yeah i saw that from the other thread....but i dont have enough memory to save any recovered files to. just the external hard drive where im trying to recover from and i know you shouldnt save stuff on the same place. and also, i know sweet FA about computers and would probably make things worse haha |

If the data is worth it, consider picking up another hard drive for them to put the recovered data on it.
I know if I lost my ~17,000 photos, I'd be devastated, which is why I have 3 redundant backups of them. One in Canada as well, just in case my place burns down. |
