Im sure this has been discussed before, in fact I think i read something on here before, but the stupid search function sucks big time and so i will just create a new one here:
Should I exchange my dollars for won here in the U.S. before i go to Korea next month, or wait to exchange it in Korea? |

if you're in a large city you can exchange it at a Thomas Cook office (look in the yellow pages) but maybe have to call in advance to make sure they have some on hand
the easiest thing to do is just withdraw from an atm at the airport when you arrive.
in K you need to make sure atms accept foreign cards (look for the GLOBAL ATM sign and lots of various brands such as mastercard, visa etc) there are many at the airport; also I landed after midnight a couple of weeks ago and the exchange counter was open. either is good but probably your bank will give you the best rate thru an atm |
