Hey.

I just put up my 30 days notice to my current job and I want to transfer my visa to another place.

I sent off a resume to one place and they said you need to finish 3/4ths of a contract to transfer it... is this true? I am in my 7th month now and will be in my 8th month when I finish.

what are the requirements for transfering, I know that one is the letter of release, but I do not know all the technicalities.

Is he just yanking my chain?

Thanks in advance

I thought one had to wait 9 months too, but here is what happened to me:

So there's a new rule? something about you have 1 month to transfer... so do you know if this 9 month rule exists?

should I just get my korean gf to call the immigration office?

Well, all I know is that they let me transfer after only 4 months. The point about the one month is that even though I had already canceled my visa they said I still could transfer it within that time period.

By all means have your Korean GF call them. But like I said, it seems like you get different answers depending on who and where you ask, even within the same office.

Maybe I can just transfer my sojourn over to a new academy then. I was given 60 days notice this week. I'll have to make sure though.

I'm thinking that it just comes down to the Daegu office being cool while others are not.

well I quit my job and by the end of this next month that will be 8 months...

I think I may just ask to extend it one more month. Not sure if they'll let me do that or not.

If this 9 month rule listed on an official website some where so I can read it?
If so, can you post a link?

Don't quit your first job so fast. Get your paperwork lined up, and then get your LOR at the end. Then you have a month to settle into a new place. You won't need that much time, but would you rather start the clock ticking now or later?
