Relations between the North and South have worsened to the point where there is no way or hope of correcting them, the committees statement said. They have reached the extreme point where the clash of fire against fire, steel against steel, has become inevitable.

The government in Seoul had no immediate comment.

All the agreed points concerning the issue of putting an end to the political and military confrontation between the North and the South will be nullified, said a statement from the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea, the North Korean agency in charge of relations with South Korea.

The funny thing is that the South never needed any of the agreements. The North has always gained from any agreements made while the South was made weaker and poorer. So now the North is going back on more agreements? Has there ever been an agreement they have kept? I am just happy that the current admin is stronger than the DJ and Roh admins and can tell the North to f##k off. What does the North have that the South needs. Nothing. DJ and Roh wanted to be friends with the North so badly that they gave them everything they could for nothing in return (sorry they got to meet Lil Kim once each). Now that a real gov't is in power in the South the North has no idea what to do and their only way to get aid is to be reasonable. It should be interesting to see what happens.

Like in a movie theater, the front row isn't the best place to watch this unfold. I think somewhere in the back row so you can still make out, see what's going on, but not be killed by the radiation.

Mrs. Clinton is leaning toward a trip that would include Japan and China, according to officials. That would allow her to check in with a staunch ally and take stock of an economic rival. A stop in South Korea would put Mrs. Clinton close to one of her looming challenges: North Koreas nuclear program.
