-A few weeks ago I was at a Krispy Kreme in Seoul with a family sitting next to me. I guess the father said something the son (about 10) didn't like, because he got up and literally roundhouse kicked him (not joking). The father did absolutely nothing about it and the mother made a gesture like she was going to hit him but also did nothing.
-This is a bit extreme but we're in a country full of kids who think they're never wrong and aren't taught to accept responsibility for their actions. I often wonder what this country will be like in a few decades when these kids are business people and politicians. Any ideas?

So someone said something you didn't hear and/or understand and a situation resulted and you're going to judge that based on...what? your observation of a situation you don't understand..
maybe the father said "I bet you can't roundhouse kick me"

Also keep in mind that many koreans express affection through hitting.

Maybe the mom didn't want to make an even bigger scene and really gave it to the kid when they got back home.

Or maybe he threatened to take the kid's donuts away. Krispy Kreme makes some damn good donuts, after all.

If people never did this (see the part I bolded) there would be far far less threads on Dave's.

if no one has explained it to you ..keep your receipts from krispy kreme, one of them is a coupon for a free donut. Save 10 and you can get a dozen free.

They are good, but a little too sugary for me. Maybe I'll go and roundhouse kick the head baker.

I was hoping for an intelligent discussion about what sort of adults Korean kids will be.

C'mon, don't be like that. At least tell us what you ordered while you were there.
