I applied to this job and got the response (below the ad) to send money to process the visa application so obviously sounds like a scam.

We are looking for ESL teachers available for 1 year contracts with a possibility to extend for a longer period.

Our school is a fully interactive place where students of all ages can visit classrooms, street performances, and English facilities like the bank, post office, and restaurants. All the while speaking English of course! In a sense, we are helping them experience the Western way of life, without having them leave United Arab Emirates.

The Students are so fully immersed in English they don't even realize that they are learning!

You will be required to teach in a new and innovative conversational English language program. Students are Emirate citizens who are enrolled in English language course and attend classes four days a week.
Teachers are paid for class time and preparation time in a Eight hours daily

Criteria:
1) Native English speaker or proven fluency in English with English teaching experience.
2) A COMPLETED Bachelors degree (not necessarily in English). This is a must. Those who have not completed a degree need not apply.
3) Some form of training in English Language teaching e.g. CELTA, TESL, TESOL, TEFL or equivalence.
4) 1- 2 years experience of teaching English, preferably adults.
PACKAGE:

* Salary: $5000USD or equivalent paid in dirham each month (tax free)
Return Airfare from home city + single furnished bedroom (own bathroom and Kitchen) within the school premesis.

Please note the school provide accommodation for families.
* Plus $5000USD severance pay at end of a 1-year contract

INSURANCE FEE FAQ:
Insurance Fee cover accidents and emergencies during visitor�s stay in the county and the medication will be carried out through a network covered by insurance companies in the country. The agreement implied that the geographical coverage area is the UAE for a minimum limit of AED150,000 per person per visit. The beneficiary will receive treatment in a shared hospital room in case of emergencies. It indicated that the Insurance Company will cover 100% of services to be offered to the patient throughout the network of the health services providers in the country including the hospital accommodation and the fees of diagnostics, surgery, anesthesiology and the aid for emergency situations leading to hospitalization in addition to medicines and drugs needed for treatment inside the hospital and the treatment costs and the costs of rehabilitation treatments and teeth treatment for damages caused by accidents during the certification valid period in the UAE.

After verifications and authentication, you will be contacted when/how the work permit/visa will be sent to you.

if it was real it would be .ae at the end for emirates

Was this a job posting from this site? I do think that you should at least tell the job site about this type of posting. I'd hope they'd do something to help prevent it from reoccurring - it seems something that comes with the territory but an ounce of prevention could help. thanks for letting others know.

This is indeed a scam. A friend of mine read and responded to that "ad" and was taken for a tidy sum. When the embasy was contacted, they took a great interest in this scam, telling my friend several things that are questionable in the ad. One thing that I specifically remember is that Americans can get their visa at the airport iwhen they get there. THis is 100 percent fake and you should report it to the UAE Embasy here in Seoul.
