I need some help to forward a port for utorrent through my router. I've tried on my own and can't seem to get it so if someone can help, that's be great.

Here is the first screen when i log into the router:

On the left, ive circled two menu items. I think the first is for forwarding ports and the second is for the firewall (perhaps this is necessary too?)

here is the screen after clicking on the first menu item:

The drop down menu shows a few korean p2p programs (puruna, buddybuddy, enppy, guruguru)

here is the screen after clicking on the second menu item (the firewall)

you can see that i've tried to make a exception for utorrent here but i can delete this easily if needed.

So, if someone can help, that'd be awesome.

(btw, i have windows firewall on and utorrent is allowed as an exception)

I had the same router before getting a wireless one for Wii games and such. You appear to have set your IP to static and forwarded your port properly. Perhaps you need to trigger the port, though...something I had a Korean call in to do. Some routers are very specific about the ports-to-programs they open, but I'm not entirely sure if Airband is one of them.

I dont know. Maybe my router is crap and it can only port forward for certain korean p2p programs. I've spent two hours today trying to work it out and even looking on korean sites.

can anyone recommend a english language based router that is available on danawa that you have experience with?

YES

i bought a level 1 router for 25k and it hasn't let me down in 2years

Been through three Linksys and 1 netgear ( i think it was anyway) in a little over three years prior

all of them costing a fair bit more than 25k

Easy to setup, easy to use, cheap as chips.

Did you forward ports for p2p programs with that? Bittorrent?

I had a look on danawa and found that they do have that particular brand here in Korea.

threw them out. two years ago I had the last one, POS, they all lasted about a year.

this Level 1 has worked hard and long hours and never missed a beat. Linksys used to freeze, need resetting, need hard resetting at times, which meant redoing all the ports again.

^ That's what I use.

Dirt cheap and reliable for two years now, what more can you ask for 25k

All sorted now. Router configured and port forwarded. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm happy as a pig in mud! Smile
