My friend arrived in Korea after the new visa rules came into effect, where she had to submit a criminal record check, health test, etc, etc. She is currently finishing her current contract in Korea now, but would like to renew her E2 visa to work for a different company. The new company has told her that she would need to submit a new criminal record check, though she has not been home to England the entire duration of her stay in Korea. Does anyone know what the process is for someone renewing their E2 visa who came under the new rules? Is a visa run required? Thank you!

Check with immigration for the CRC. Go into their office. Don't call the helpline. The helpline can get things wrong. If she's transferring her sojourn (visa) to a new school, she probably won't need another sealed transcript. You can transfer employers without having to leave the country. All you need is a release letter from your current employer.
