I was just home (Canada) for two months and I witnessed the phenomenon, sweeping the nation -- the Trailer Park Boys. I'm hooked! it's possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life!
For those who don't know, it's a mock reality show about a trailer park, and the adventures (usually involving growing dope) of it's most colourful residents Julian, Ricky, J-Rock, Randy, Mr. Lahey, and Bubbles.
Just wanted to see if there were many other fans out there. But if you've been in Korea a while, you may not have seen in yet. |

AaAaAAHhHhH, oh my GOD!! ...is what you're saying true? You mean it's not real? What next, the tooth fairy?
OK. All joking aside now. That show is the best. Bubbles rocks the house...

I got the entire series on Kazaa. Very funny. The new season should be starting in the spring. |

This is my chance to brag that I was an extra in a second-season episode...! Assa! It's really scary how utterly believable it all is -- especially when they end up at some place like mall or downtown...
I, too, have a hard drive full of episodes and recently turned a couple of friends here onto the show. If you're downloading any, don't forget to look for the Tragically Hip video for "The Darkest One", which features all the boys along with Mr. Don Cherry himself as a chicken delivery man.
Also, the producers recently inked a distribution deal with BBC America, which means all you Americans can finally get in on the joke... |

kazaa has some pretty fast download times for this show ATM, so I'm taking advantage. Around 60-79kb/s, which aint bad for a change. It sounds like a hoot. I could do with a laugh. |

Make sure you download the b&w movie that started it all- the one where they are contract hitmen (their speciality is annoying pets). |

I actually think its on a downslide now back home...I too was amazed at the phenomenon but from what i've been told, it's been completely overexposed. All of my buddies said that whenever the cast does any type of interview they ALWAYS stay in character which is supposedly getting pretty annoying.
The street thug played by John-O makes the show IMO especially when you think about his old show (Jon-O Vision) where he came across as a preppy, sexually ambiguous, conservative tight ass. |

Trailer Park Boys rock! they are a huge hit on the EAst Coast as well trhough out Canada. I have met them personally a couple times, Bubbles(mike is his real name) looks really differen't with out the glasses i never recognized him at first. You wouldn't imagine how many women crawl over them.. I have gotten other Canadian friends hooked, Julian's parent's actually own a Pizza Shop on PEI, it's called JR Capones, well atually now his parents sold it to his Aunt and Uncle (his father atually has bone cancer)very good pizza for the price you pay for it (which isn't that bad ) They have a wall of fame wiht all these trailer park boys pictures etc, i was in there one time and a couple came in from Onatrio and they seen teh pictures and recognized who they were and started talking about it and got a pciture taken with it, and he started micking how they say ARSE, does noone else in Canada use the word ARSE or what? he said that he has never heard any say it.. go figure must be an East Coast thing? |

The problem with the BBC America deal is that unfortunately in their "post-Janet-boob" rampage.. all derogatory remarks will now be beeped out (recent decision).. even though its on a cable network..
Just downloaded the Hip video.. it's alright... definitely will catch the interest of most back home... Cherry, the Hip, stubbies, TPB, the old currency... Canadiana overload.. |

Trailer park boys is incredible. The new episode that aired on Sunday was solid too. I think this is the last season though. It's true about bubbles having women all over him. I saw Bubbles, Ricky, and Julian at the Chili Peppers/Queens of the Stone Age concert in July and and the girls around these guys were all smoking. |

True--they are milking their 15 minutes of TV fame for all its worth. They're still fun to watch but there's only so much you can do with the concept when its within the confines of the park and the area around it. New season started yesterday and it looked promising... |
