retard that i am, i didn't realize it's rainy season in bali, and i'm leaving next week.

how bad is it? i like a good, brief, afternoon rain shower, but not much more. i don't want to be stuck indoors.

i've heard its very lush and beautiful at this time of year.

Why would warm tropical rain keep you indoors?

It's fine. I've been at this time of year and am going again on Saturday. There'll be some heavy rain at times, but also lots of sun.

When you're at the swim-up pool bar, snorkeling, diving or surfing, rain doesn't matter. Wink

I caught the end of the rainy season in Thailand recently, and it wasn't bad at all. Still plenty of sunny days, and cheap hotels!

They say Bali is not too bad and to expect some afternoon showers year round. I've read it's good year round. It's just so close to the equator that it doesn't have more than 1 season like how Thailand has 3 seasons due to being further from the Equator.

I would guess on the equator there is only 1 season; hot and humid with some storms on occasion.

Sounds great. I would love to go there someday as well.

By the way...how much did you pay a ticket? and where did you purchase it? ...if you don't mind.

Trying to find out if there is a good reliable travel agent here or if buying online is cheaper. Thanks.

I'm going there soon too. Several friends have been this time of year and they say the weather is fine. I am guessing most of the rain occurs inland, as that is where the clouds usually are.

I'm just back from 2 weeks in Bali...
- the first week there was absolutely no rain;
- the second week, it rained every day and varied from:
torrential downpours during thunderstorms that only lasted 30 minutes to an hour; to two to three hours of heavy rain tapering to showers.
