Does anyone know where in Seoul a dart board can be purchased? I tried Costco (they're supposed to have everything, right?), but no dice there. Thanks!

I searched high and low for a decent dart board and dart supplies. No luck in Seoul or Daejeon.

I ended up buying on-line from A-ZDarts. The shipping is pretty high BUT they have excellent prices. My total order was arount $200 and bleeding the shipping over the price of each item it was actually reasonable.

There is an on-line shop in Korea dartsshop.kr but heir prices are 2-3x more than what you will pay from A-Z. I paid $32.00 for some 90% tungstun darts from A-Z. The exact same darts from dartsshop were W160,000. Same for flights, shafts, etc.

If you do find a shop in Seoul please let me know.

Ouch, shipping from the US?

OP, this is the best place to order boards in Korea:

http://dartshouse.com/

The carry "The Bandit" board, the top board in the world, not much more than what you would pay in a Western country.

They sell a good array of darts and supplies, too.

The other place to get gear is:

Depends what company you want, but I find Unicorn to be the best. Buy the Eclipse Pro board for 80000 from dartsshop, it's the same as the board used in the PDC World Finals. Also if you consider ordering from abroad UK sites are generally cheaper. I use A180.co.uk the products aren't the cheapest, but shipping is very cheap and quick.

I'd still advise against buying from a Korean site. Prices are MUCH higher than what you would pay from a foreign site. I just looked at my last order from A-ZDarts (California based). 82 items and shipping was $49.75 for Intl' mail-track. That is around +62 cents per item. When you consider that makes A-ZDarts flight $1.61 vs Korean flight at W3,000 its a considerable savings.

I have no stake in A-Z but I have found them to be excellent. UK sites look pretty good too. I have ordered from dartsshop.kr . It was quick but I was a bit dissappointed in 1. Their selection, 2. Their advertising (shafts listed as aluminum but actual product was nylon w/aluminum flight holder) and 3. their prices. Service was fast though.

I currently need nothing by way of darts but come my next birthday I am going to buy another set of 90% or 95% tungstun darts and an electronic board. I'll be buying them from A-Z.

Anyone up for a game of darts in Daejeon?

If it's just a cheap board/ darts you're after I think you can get them on the base at Yongsan if you know someone there.

I bought my dartboard at Friends bar, up on hooker hill. The owner imports them. It's a great board. I've had it for over a year and have never had a bounce back. the metal coil that divides the board is razor thin so the dart never bounces back. Not sure why all dartboard aren't made the same way.

It's a Puma-Patriot Bandit. I think it's made in either New Zealand or Australia

From what I remember it's fairly expensive, but considering the shipping I was happy to pay it. It was under 100,000 I think. Back home a quality board would cost 60-80 bucks, so I was happy to pay it.

Dont ship a dartboard the price is exactly the same as importing it. Trust me the Unicorn for 80000 is a good deal. It's the best board out there. It's better than the puma/winmau crap in the same price bracket.

In response to saw you are right about foreign sites being better for darts, but dartboards are a different matter because of the weight. It's a very similar price only difference is you get it quicker from a Krean site. The puma range on dartshouse is well over priced though.

90000-100000 won plus very cheap shipping within Korea isn't much higher when you consider the same boards sell for around 50 USD on US websites, plus you would pay well over 100,000 won just to ship it to Korea. The Korean sites had to pay for overseas shipping and have to deal with the awful exchange rate.

My advice: Buy the big stuff in Korea, like the dartboard, the backboard (or protective ring or cabinet) and maybe some cheap brass darts (10000-15000 won a set) to get you started. But professional darts and small supplies and accessories from a US site. Having your family ship them to you may also save you some money.

I used a site yesterday that had great prices and fast service. www.Kdartshop.com The guy speaks English and the prices are great. On par with sites in America including exchange rate
