Technology for Youth Foundation (TFY) is an international non-profit organization that seeks to bridge the digital canyon among disadvantaged communities in developing countries.
TFY recognizes that access to information holds the key to the empowerment of marginalized people, particularly youth and women. The vision of Technology for Youth Foundation is to foster wealth creation, reduce unemployment and create self-sustaining communities by providing marginalized people in rural communities with the technology tools, training and resources to enable them to realize their greatest potential.
We are looking for computer equipment donations particularly (Pentium III IV PCs, hardware
and software) as well as working projectors, scanners, printers, or photocopiers. Please email [email protected] or call/text 010-5817-4003. Your donation will be greatly appreciated. |

| TFY is based out of Seattle, Washington. I did some volunteer work with them while living there. Basically, I am just a volunteer coodinator for Korea doing this part -time when I am not teaching. TFY has other volunteer coodinators in the Phillipines,Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Africa. When I receive donations, I contact the head office to see if there are any shipping funds available and where TFY's current project is located. For example, there is an ongoing project in the Philippines now to help schools in Luzon that cannot afford computer equipment. I then contact the Phillipine coodinator to let them know that I received the items from donors in Korea and proceed to ship them. Sometimes it's an out-of-pocket expense for shipping because funds are not always available, but I believe it is a worthy cause. I have received many donations in the past that have gone to both Thailand and the Philippines to help a needy primary school where children did not have computer/internet access. I will be going personally to the Philippines next month so I hope to fly over a few donations with me. I hope this answers your questions. |

Good job! Do you have any link or site of TFY? I found IFY, International Foundation for Youth. |
