I work in a GEPIK elementary school in Bundang. I was told today by my handler that my extra class (the "gift class") has one million won allocated to it for spending which we have not used yet, and must use by the end of february. So I am meant to find classrooms materials. I was thinking that storybooks might be a good idea, but I can't find anything on the internets suitable for 9-12 year olds. Anybody have any suggestions? It would be appreciated. |

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question. You could try whatthebook in Itaewon.
I'm thinking of starting my next GEPIK job at an elementary school in Bundang.
How has your experience been so far? Do you like it? |

Are you simply teaching English or another subject (science, drama, etc.)?
Are they all at the same level?
You can find tons of supplies online. Search for workbooks, beginner to intermediate chapter books and supplements for those books, academic posters for the classroom, audio supplies, etc. |

hmm.. my gepik school in Bundang is alright. i worked for avalon (the big fancy hagwon) last year and this is far better, with the longer vacation time and focus on education rather than profit. they make me work very hard though. but as i'm sure you all know, it depends on the school and the people you work with.
my gift class is just an extra english class i teach in the afternoon. i can teach anything i want in it. i think it would be cool to teach abridged versions of "oliver twist' or some other fun book. anyhow thanks for all of your ideas. |

How do they make you work hard? Sounds scary. |

i have to do all the correcting and the lesson planning, which takes up most of my time. but i've never had to stay late or bring home my work, so i guess i shouldn't complain. basically, when i'm at school, i'm busy, and can't indulge in clandestine movie watching. |
