Hi,
I have previously spent 8 years in the ROK and sometimes wonder about going back to teach. With the mass of information floating around about the new E-2 regulations, how much of a hassle would I be in for? If I do return, it would be on an E-2. To give you a bit of insight, I have no criminal record, so I do not worry about that aspect, but I have "heard" that Korean Immigration wants a yearly CRC, irregardless of whether you have left Korea in that time or not. If this is indeed the case, then it sounds as if it would be a royal pain. Is anyone able to offer advice on this and just how much of a circus act is it to get this done? Thanks in advance. |

It cost me $13 to have my finger prints taken and $18 to send them to the FBI. |

$30 for the CRC
then an extra 10 for an apostille
What is funny is that, by the time it came for me to mail them to Korea they were already expired

A new CRC from your home country isn't necessary every year all that you need to submit is a new Korean CRC which I can easily get at any Korean police station. |

I have never heard of this requirement or alternative before.
The rules:
If you renew with the same employer you do not need a new CRC of any kind.
If you change employers, under certain conditions, you do not need a new CRC of any kind. |
