The hospital DEMANDED U.S. dollars upfront?
What a bunch of fucking monkeys.
I'm quite confident that if this were to happen to someone in the same position in the West, it would somehow be taken care of.
Sometimes, I really hate Asia.........(with excpetion on Japan).

Vietnam is a poor country. It has no obligation to pay the medical bills of wealthy (comparatively) tourists who take unnecessary risks while visiting. I do not believe that limited health resources (taken from taxpayers) should be assigned to a foreigner. |

| Most insurance policies won't cover you for riding motorcycles or scooters abroad. I think some of them cover you have a valid license and stuff, but most people hiring scooters in Asia don't even have a valid licence. |
