Hi Everyone, I've been checking out the lists of suggested things to bring with me to Korea and I keep seeing people mention bedsheets.
What size of bed should I expect to see in my living accommodations? I'm assuming a twin bed but could it be a double size? I just want to make sure I pack the right size of sheets. What size was your bed? Or what did you see mostly? I highly doubt I'll see a queen bed size.
I've also seen pillows mentioned on the lists but they were from posters back in 2003. With it being 2009 now, do I have a better chance of finding a good pillow (like ones in North America) in Korea now?
Thanks! |

Single or supersingle (slightly bigger than a twin). Double sheets would be fine as twin dont fit super single entirely.
Costco sells decent pillows. I had brought one with me when I came over but now I see it is unnecessary weight. |

| I got a 'supersingle'. You definitely want to bring a sheet so you don't have to do so much laundry (as the Koreans ones are bulky/hard to wash and dry). |

| Thanks for the advice! I don't have a Costco membership though... could I get one over there? What do you need to get one? |

It's cheaper than in canada or the US. Just 35,000 won and your foreigner card. Might want to bring 2 sets of sheets but wash and wear the pillow cases. Hanging out double sized sheets is a bit of a pain. I wish I had two pairs of sheets now.
I use the school supplied "bedsheet" as a mattress pad. I suggest you wash those before using as they may have come from your predecessor. |

| you can buy fitted sheets and pillows (whatever you want) at Lottemart (and probably many other stores) in Korea - I don't now why everyone thinks it's so hard to get sheets - Maybe if you are in a small town. But, like most things here, they aren't cheap. I brought sheets, comforter, and a pillow. My schools apartments have full size beds - seems pretty standard ( thats what all the motels have) |
