I've been thinking more and more laterly about hiring a financial advisor to help me with asset allocation, retirement planning, tax shelter opportunities, and a bunch of things that I have no idea about.

Does anyone here use a financial advisor? Has it been a wise decision? Are there any ones you'd recommend here in Korea?

Not quite the advice I need.

I have a jumble of random questions: I've got to sort out a bunch of tax issues, plan out how to purchase property overseas without having to then pay income taxes in Canada as a resident, figure out how to set up a retirement fund there without the same issue, find somewhere tax-deferred to put some income I will have coming in, find a better place for my regular savings besides the 7% max most banks are offering, sort out some poorly performing funds, get some advice on some new stock choices, etc.

I'm not sure if one guy can handle all these areas; I'm not even sure how the process works, as I've never done this before. It'd be easy if I were back home, as many banks have in-house advisors that could handle many of these questions.

Finding a financial advisor who could direct me to the best
portable retirement plans was the best thing that happened
to me financially when I worked in Asia. The beauty of these
plans is that you can make deposits for as little as $150 per
month and you have many high performance funds to pick
from.

Most of these plans will allow you to invest into about ten funds
and the company managing these is an insurance company with
billions of dollars under management. The companies are also
protected by all the other companies on this sovereign island
nation so that if one company goes under they are required by
law to bail out the bankrupt company so that all insured with a
retirement plan get their money back.

But in the 1,000 year history of this sovereign island nation only
one insurance company has ever gone belly up.

Having your retirement assets go tax free outside of your
home country also gives you protection from your
out-of-control home government who will desire more and
more of your dollars as the world economy become further
unglued. So it is nice to have this money protected offshore
in a safe country that has trillions under management.

Contact me by email found on my web site if you are interested
since I can not post private information for these companies on
this web site forum. I would recommend this asset protection
and building strategy to my closest of kin. They are that good.

Sincerely, FREEDOM
