Has anybody ever heard of anyone who is on a 1++ level with EPIK program?

Level 1++ doesn't officially exist with EPIK. However, I've seen job ads where it's listed for a certain provinces... I can't remember which one(s). Whether it's true or not, I don't know.

Could they be referring to two years at the 1+ level? Sounds screwed up?

What POE/MOE are you with?


While there's no mention of it on the EPIK website, it seems Level 1++ is 'official'.

I'm a level 3 getting 2.1m but I can't see any difference in salary until I hit level 1. And even then the difference in salary is only 4 to 5 million KRW a year.

-no teaching experience

2.1m a month, 25200K won a year.


Now let's look at what a level 1 has:

-2 years experience
-Master's degree
-/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA (100+hrs) Certificate
-Major in Education, English Education or English Language/Literature
-Contract renewal as a Level 2+ at the same POE

2.4~2.5m Won a month 28800K Won to 30000K Won a year

gross earning difference: 4~5m Won a year.
